Essentials Checklist
by Tash Brooks
Okay, so you’ve emailed. You’ve found out their allergies, you know their likes and dislikes. These are the little touches that set the tone for the entire stay. I love the feeling that after a long day (or days) of travel, my loved ones walk into their room and feel immediately cared for. Freshly made bed with fluffy pillows, clean tight sheets, clean windows and spotless floors. I love the room to smell ever so slightly of something luxurious but not overpowering. And, the welcome baskets! These are filled with all of the things they may have forgotten, or just the little extras that make them immediately feel like you’ve gone the extra mile. It really goes such a long way to set the tone for the entire trip.
I like to have two baskets. One in the bathroom for all of the toiletry essentials and one in the bedroom. Sometimes those late flights or jet lagged hours, it’s nice to have something on hand for them to easily grab if they’re hungry or need a little something extra.
Bathroom Basket
I like the baskets to feel like a treasure hunt. Lots of little things to try and explore. For the bathroom, I get mini’s of everything so it’s easy for them to take their goodies home and be reminded of how loved they are. Or, if they don’t like anything, you don’t have to be concerned with waste. Don’t forget to include hair dryer, comb/brush, fresh towels and fresh face washers in the bathroom.

Bedside Basket
I like this basket to be filled with all of the things that support their sleep or that they may need during the night. Don’t forget to put fresh bottles of water by their bed (I like to use glass bottles they can reuse) and a clock that’s not too bright. I love HATCH that wakes with the sun and can also double as a sound machine. It’s gentle and great for circadian rhythm support.
